Chapter 2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raindrops on the windowframe,

Puzzled in my own little world.

Played by the devil's little game.

Her,

The dark haired Devil,

Those Icey cold eyes.

Her words,

Filled with nothing

But hate and lies.

You know her,

as well as I.

And soon, she wants us both to die.

Her hate,her power,

her will to kill,

Is nothing but a childish thrill.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sound of birds singing awoke her from her slumber.

A ceiling, a wooden ceiling above her head.

Yes she knew this ceiling, it was all so familiar to her.

She blinked her eyes, feeling tired and soar all over.

The memory of how she had ended up in her bed was unknown to her.

She couldn't remember much after the whole rage on her mom.

It all seemed like a big black hole which had swallowed her and erased her memory.

She pushed herself up from the bed, her head was spinning.

What had happened to her?
How had she gotten back to their house?

"You're awake..." A voice whispered, Loreley's blurry eyes noticed the dark silouett sitting in the windowframe. The sun shinning in on all sides of it.

She rubbed her eyes, trying to get her dizziness out of her system.

Her vision slowly returning to normal, and her dark silouett changed into a familiar person.

"...Rose..." She muttered under her breath, surprised to even see her in her house.

Rose arosed from her seat and walked up beside of Loreley's bed.

Loreley watched as her friend sat down beside her, her hand taking hers in her own.

"What are you doing here, Rose? I-I really didn't expect to see you here after last night..." She stuttered. Her vision had fallen upon their holding hands.

But in her mind, she wondered.

Where was her mother?

and what had really happened back there?

"I heard what had happened and I came to see if you were all right. Are you feeling okay?" Rose spoke with a calming voice as she placed her hand upon her friend's forehead before she countinued: "You don't look so good, Loreley." Loreley frowned, she didn't feel all that bad. Just her head, like those times she and Rose had sneaked away to the tavern late at night and of course, having a bit too much ale than the young girls could handle.

That was almost the feeling she was having.

She pushed her hand aside as she muttered under her breath, "I'm okay, Rose. Just a bit dizzy."
The bluehaired elf looked at her, she still seemed concerned.

Loreley pushed her aside as she leaped out of bed.

her barefeet cold against the wooden floor beneath her.

She walked to the window to gaze upon the village outside.

Everyone was all ready busy with their buisness.

Loreley let out a deep silent sigh as she leaned against the window frame.

"Where is my mother, Rose?" She softly questioned her bluehaired friend.

Rose left the bed and walked to her side.

She looked at Loreley in the corner of her eye.

"I do not know. She wasn't here when I arrived." Rose replied.

Loreley lowered her head as she thought to herself, "She's proberly finding out another place to do our training, or maybe setting up another traning plan."

Loreley turned to her friend, her eyes meeting hers.

"How do you feel about some breakfast, Rose?" She said with a smile.

When she actually thought about it, she was a bit hungry.

Rose nodded in her own little silence and turned to walk to the kitchen.

Loreley tilted her head in wonder, as she questioned herself what was on Rose's mind.

She shook the thought out of her head and followed her friend.

In the middle of the kitchen stood a small table, with four chairs standing around it.

On top, an vase with fresh flowers.

Rose had allready taken a seat by the table in the small kitchen.

Loreley noticed her looking around before she gave her attention to Loreley.

"Nothing for me, Loreley." Rose muttered with a gentle sigh.

She seemed to be upset.

She didn't really feel like she should ask her about it.

She knew Rose that well.

Either she would blurt everything out or she would rage like a vulcano.

Either way, she didn't feel like taking any chances.

"Very well" Loreley said, sitting down infront of her friend.

She couldn't help but wonder what was on her mind.

Rose wasn't an person that easily would be like this.

Nor had Loreley actually seen her behave in this manner.

Loreley leaned against her hands, looking straight at her friend.

"What's on your mind, Rose? You seem to be far away in thoughts. would you like to share?" Rose didn't even look up at her, her eyes just looking deep into the emptiness.

Just the silence again.

Could it be that bad, she wondered.

what could have made Rose this way?

Could it have something to do with last night?

Loreley's thoughts was interupted by Rose's voice calling out to her.

"It's about last night, Loreley. I saw what happened to you."

so that was what was on her mind.

Loreley herself didn't remember much beside the anger that had grown in her.

And the fear that had appeared on her mother's face.

"I don't really remember that much, Rose. Can you please fill me in?"

Finally now, Rose looked up at her.

Her eyes, empty and far away.

This didn't look like the Rose she knew.

She ran her fingers through her hair as she replied her back.

"The flames swallowed you up, Loreley. and yet, look at you, not a scratch.

What exactly was that?" Rose seemed nervous, nervous of what she had seen happened to her friend.

Loreley wasn't exactly sure what to tell her.

She didn't really know what it was herself.

"I'm not sure what it is, Rose. Sometimes it just happenes. It takes me to a dark and cold place, filled with raging flames. I feel so alone in that place..." Loreley sighed,

was this something her father had brought upon her?

She wasn't sure.

"that sounds cre...." Rose's words got interupted as a racket was heard outside the house.

The girls looked at each other as they ran to the door to see what was going on.

As they came outside, they saw a young girl running by them, not a dark elf like they were, but with a snout, paws and a tail like a wolf but with a human body.

Behind her came a man running. his white long hair waving in the wind as he ran after her.

He too seemed to be different.

In the middle of his forehead, a large horn was placed.

on his feet he had hoves, like a horse.

and waving behind him, was a hores-like tail.

Some of the villagers were chasing them closly behind.

Loreley turned to her friend with a questioning look in her eyes.

"What on earth is going on here?" she asked, but got no reply from her friend.

Rose watched them running away from them and grabbed ahold of her friend's arm as she shouted loudly out:

"I don't know but let's find out!"

The chase went around the village for a while, until the wolf-like girl, leaped ontop of one of the houses.

Her Unicorn friend was left behind, below on the street.

She settled by the chimeny on the roof and looked down at her friend.

"Oh common now, you can do it, Edorin!" She shouted at him from high up above.

He shook his fist at her and growled loudly as he screamed to her.

"You actually THINK I can climb up there with these hoves, Wolfie?!"
The girl giggled and wagged her tail.

She crawled down the side of the roof, peeking down at her friend.

"Well, you better try cos here they come!" She said in a teasing voice.

Edorin stumbled up against the wall as the villagers came closer.

They stopped a few feet away from him, looking at the weird beast.

Loreley and Rose caught up to them and looked at each other before making their way through the crowd.

The town elder stepped forth, gazing at Wolfie and Edorin.

"What are you? and why are you here in our village?" The elder spoke in a old and tired voice.

Edorin looked up at Wolfie sitting on the roof above him.

She frowned as she leaped down from her safe spot, landing on the dirt infront of the elder's feet. The dirt made a small cloud around her feet as she stood as tall as she could there before him.

"What ARE we?" she said with a loud growl.

"I happen to be Wolfie, Daughter of the Tribe leader of the Tzeari." she said in a proud voice as she walked over to her unicorn friend.

"And this is Edorin, a low life scum of a theif of the Nergos." She said, pounching him in the ribs with her elbow. He coughed and pushed her aside.

"Your a little brat" He mumbled as he held his hands to his ribcage.

But she didn't seem to mind.

She walked up close to the elder, sniffing in the air like a wild dog.

Her eyes closed shut as she inhaled the fresh mountain air.

"And what kind of weirdos are you? with all this war paint on." she growled, still sniffing the air.

Rose took a step forth, shaking her fist at the young girl, the rage burning within her eyes.

"We're Darkelves if you are so courious to know, little one. and if I were you two, I'd get my butt of of this village this second!" She commanded in a loud harsh tone.

Loreley stepped up beside her, placing her hand on her friend's shoulder.

She was courious about the two, she'd never seen anyone like them in her life.

"Calm down, Rose. Let them be. What wrong have they done?" Rose frowned by her words.

She didn't like outsiders more than the rest of the village did.

Loreley stepped closer to the young Cainine.

Wolfie's dark red eyes shinned in the morning sunlight, looking straight back at her.

"What are you looking at?" Wolfie barked, not feeling too good being watched in that manner.

Loreley reached out for her, softly stroking her fingertips against her white fur.

Wolfie jerked at her touch, tripping over a rock behind her.

She groaned as she fell on the ground with a loud thump.

Loreley's eyes smiled in their own little way as she walked back to Rose.

"I don't think these two will cause any threat to us." Loreley said with a smile, petting her friend on the shoulder.

"A threat?!" Rose shrieked as she clutched her fist tightly together.

"Rose, Shut up!" She shouted as she pushed Rose aside.

Rose stood like a question mark behind her.

Why was Loreley so angry?

"I'm going back to the house," she murmured and walked away from the crowd.

The villagers moved out of her way as she walked.

She could feel them watching her.

Her every move.

"Loreley, hold on!" Rose shouted, running to catch up with her friend.

Loreley didn't wait, she just kept on walking.

What on earth was the matter with this town?

Was everyone insane?

"Loreley, common, wait will you?" Loreley stopped, waiting for her to catch up with her.

She could hear Rose panting heavely behind her.

"What's your problem today, Loreley? You seriously haven't been yourself today."

Loreley ignored her.

"Come on, Loreley, at least speak with me" she begged.

She turned to her bluehaired friend with a frown upon her lips.

"This village..." she hissed. "It's crazy! Jusy because someone from outside out village finds their way here, does that mean we have to chase them out of here? Look at that girl, she couldn't have been more than around our age. Do you seriously think that they could do anything to this village?" Loreley closed her eyes to catch her breath.

"Is that whats bothering you, Loreley? This Village?" Rose politly asked as she stepped closer to her friend.

She could hear Loreley breathing deeply.

Suddenly, Rose realised the redish aura arising from her friend's shoulders.

was it happening again?

Rose questioned herself what had made her friend like this.

Was this the same thing that had happened last night?

"Loreley, Please Calm down....Please..." She whispered with a begging voice.

She didn't want it to happen again.

Slowly, Rose saw the aura disappearing from Loreley's shoulders, and as soon as it was gone,

Loreley opened her eyes and looked at her friend.

"I need a drink," she so softly muttered under her breath.

Rose just smiled, grabbing her friend by the arm.

She seemed happy all the sudden.

Loreley didn't bother thinking about it.

Everything seemed so messed up.

and on top of it all, she couldn't help but wonder where her mother was.

After a short walk, they reached the Black lion, The tavern there in town.

It seemed empty but that was proberly because it was still early in the day.

Rose grined as they walked up the few stairs up to the tavern door.

She pushed the door open before them and lead Loreley inside.

The smell of ale was still hanging in the air.

Rose pulled her with her over to the counter.

A large Dark elf was looking down at them.

His dark eyes looking at the two young elven girls.

Rose flashed him one of her sexiest smiles and placed a few silver coins on the wooden counter.

"A few ale for me and my good friend here, sir" she said, flashing him another one of her smiles.

He groaned and filled two jars, slamming them down on the counter.

Rose grined at her friend and grabbed her jar.

"Now, Drink up, Loreley. Let's just forget all our misery for a little while" She whispered and put the jar to her mouth.

Loreley watched her like a solid stone statue.

She wondered what misery Rose was talking about.

Rose never did seem much miserable these days.

She did remember a time though,

when she was nothing but miserable.

She hated that time, she couldn't even talk to her,

before she had a got at her.

Loreley brought the jar to her lips, and drank the sweet nectar it hid inside.

She could feel it rushing through her, like a cold emotion that called her back.

Time passed and the ales passed as well.

Rose and Loreley sat on each of their chairs at a small table by the corner of the room.

The place was starting to get crowded.

Rose's high laughter could be heard through the loud talking crowd.

She collapsed in her own giggles ontop of the table.

Loreley, herself, couldn't help but laugh at her drunken friend.

But her attention was quickly redirected as the door to the tavern opened.

In stepped the strangers from earlier that day.

The young canine ran inside on all four as the tall Unicorn walked in a slow pace behind her.

Loreley noticed how Rose looked at the horned one.

Rose slammed her fist in the table and laughed out loudly for them all to hear.

Wolfie and her companion noticed her high pitched laugh and looked at each other with a puzzled look.

The canine girl, leaped ontop of their table and growled loudly as she looked deep into Rose's drunken eyes.

"So you find us amusing, long-eared-one? Let's end this amusment right here and now!"

She barked, streching out her long deadly claws.

Rose looked at her attempt of scaring her and laughed out loud again.

Loreley on the other hand, didn't find it that amusing.

But before Loreley even realised it,

Rose had quickly gotten of her seat, sending the chair across the wooden floor.

Quickly, she pulled up her sword and pointed it to the tip of the young canine's snout.

"Very amusing," Rose muttered

Wolfie swallowed her pride and backed off.

A wide smile appeared on Rose's lips as she lowered her sword.

"That's what I thought," she muttered silently as she put the sword away.

The young girl still sat on the table, silently.

"Rose, sit down and drink your ale. and for crying out loud, calm down." Loreley said in a drunken hissing voice.

She watched her friend stumbled over to where her chair had stopped, dragging it after her as she walked back to their table.

she fell down on her chair and giggled in a childish way.

Loreley ignored her for a while as Wolfie's friend came over to their table.

"Who are you," Loreley so softly asked as the horned one sat down by their table.

He looked at his companion which was allready too far away by the fright Rose had given her.

"Well, you all ready know our names. It's a long story how we ended up here really.

Wolfie here, was promised away in marriage to her tribe's mightest warrior. And as stubborn as she is, she ran away from home." He looked at his companion sitting on the table before he continues.

"And I, Edorin, Came from the snowy valley, I Felt like there was a need for me else where,
So I left my valley behind. Not long after, I met up with this one here." He pointed to Wolfie which finally snapped out of her trance.

"Oh shut it, Edorin. They have no intrest of our stories." Wolfie hissed in a deep voice as she looked into her friend's eyes.

Loreley looked at Rose, she seemed bored with what was happening.

Rose yawned and giggled as she got up of her chair.

"It's getting late, Loreley. Let's go home." She said in a low tune, pulling her friend up from her seat.

Loreley tried to get away, but too late.

Rose had all ready got her hand in hers.

She dragged her along towards the door, her feet dragging slowly behind her.

"Rose, Come on, slow down a bit!" Loreley shouted, trying to hold her friend back.

"We're going back to your house to see if your mother has arrived" Rose hissed, pulling Loreley out the door.

She gave up even trying.

She knew that once Rose had something in her mind, she wouldn't let it go.

The nightly air was cold against her skin.

Sending small chills down her spin.

She noticed the house was still dark.

Rose giggled as she pushed upen the front door to the house,

pushing Loreley in, infront of her.

But her giggling suddenly stopped,

as they both realised to dark shadow sitting at the table.

Icey cold eyes gazing at them both,

which could send chills down the spin of anyone.

"Mom?" Loreley stuttered as she took a step forth.

Surly it was her mother sitting there in the darkness.

Dion arose from her seat, muttering in a low tone.

"Get to bed, Loreley, We're getting up early for another training in the morning...."
